Our agents help farmers to purchase their inputs -seeds and fertilizers- using the digital wallet towards the end of the season. We do this through mobile phones only, eliminating the need for bank accounts or debit/credit cards.

We provides smallholder farmers with access to current weather and climate information in their area. This enables them to be more aware of the risks involved in planting certain crops only when there is adequate rainfall or when the weather has improved.
Our Smallholder farmers are given a specific training on how to use mobile phone and our platform, including how to check balance, receive weather notifications via SMS, and self deposit money into their accounts via Airtel money payment system.
MlimiPay aims to successfully achieve economic empowerment and financial inclusion in the agricultural sector through the use of digital technology.
Digital wallets are no longer new concepts. What is new is the ability to use them at the base of the pyramid in rural areas by using mobile phones and with a particular focus on smallholder farmers and women.
